SCREEN LEGEND
IN "BROTHEL" SHOCKER

Actress Amanda
Barrie knows Soho well.
When she was not yet 14, she ran away from home
and came to live in a hostel for young girls in this, one
of
London's more "colourful" areas.
Arriving recently for her first A1 VOX session,
she declared:
"I'm sure this place used to be a brothel"
She may well be right, but we'd like to emphasise
that, today, it is nothing like a brothel here.
We pay close attention to our clients' individual needs
and preferences, pandering to their every whim
in softly furnished small rooms, rentable by the hour,
from which may be heard all manner
of human noises.
Glad that's all
clear then!

On the trail
of a screen legend!
At A1 VOX, we're
known for taking good care of
our clients and guests,
in a friendly, caring atmosphere.
So when British tv and film icon
Leslie Phillips
asked for his
after-session taxi
to pick him up from a local deli,
we were delighted to arrange it.
Some time later, we heard from a puzzled
taxi driver who was touring the area,
unable to find his famous passenger.
We couldn't risk leaving a senior actor stranded
in London's chilly winter weather,
so we immediately sent out a search party.
A1 VOX managing director Charles Nove
found the target sitting outside a local cafe,
surrounded by well-wishers,
including a butcher's-van driver
who was so excited to meet his hero that he
was all for abandoning his cargo of meat and
becoming Leslie's instant chauffeur.
Why not come
and try the
A1 VOX warm welcome
for yourself?

22 Poets, a London museum,
6 hours and ... a room full of
dolls' houses and
paper dragons!
Yes, a fresh
challenge
for the A1 VOX team.
We were delighted to work
with many of the world's leading poets,
for a new CD
in aid of Oxfam's ongoing fight
against poverty & suffering.
This latest
collection in their
Life Lines series focuses on
works for children and was recorded
at the Museum of Childhood
in Bethnal Green, London.

Chris O'Connor
mixes audio in an area more used to
mixing paint and glue!
Poet Imtiaz Dharker
records her work in the A1 VOX
temporary studio.
It's all in
a day's work for the
A1 VOX team.
The finished
product can be
purchased at Oxfam bookshops
or
online.

The stairs in
our
characterful old Soho building
provide a good instant fitness test
for our visitors.
Going for Gold, and looking
unchallenged for the title,
legendary Triple Jump champion
Jonathan Edwards CBE
came bounding up to the top floor
with a hop, skip and jump,
in a record time of about 5 seconds
and not the slightest bit out of breath.
Can anyone beat
him?
The challenge is on...

When the team
restoring a 19th Century
fisherman's cottage in Leigh on Sea
required authentic accents
and sound effects
to complete their visitor experience
they knew where to come.
A1 VOX cast
the acting talent
and recorded special sound
on location in the Thames mud.
Got a special
project?
We just love an audio challenge!
